Welcome to Christmas Market Town Celle

The Celle Christmas Market is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Northern Germany. We even have it in writing: in 2018 Celle received the title of ‚Best Christmas City‘. There are plenty of reasons why: the Historical Old Town, with its unique ensemble of half timbered buildings, stylish market stalls, high quality artisan handcrafts, activities, concerts and not least, the sheer choice of gastronomic offerings, make for an atmospheric setting at Advent.

We‘ll leave that to other markets. Our motto is rather: small, but a bit more refined. Personally, instead of anonymously. Around 70 stalls, plus activities, concerts, the festively lit half-timbered buildings, sheer gastronomic choice, select, exclusive designs and high-quality handcrafts set their own standards, creating the perfect, winter Christmas atmosphere in the Historical Old Town and in front of the Celle Palace. In short: pleasure, style, variety – that’s Celle in the Christmas season.

There’s simply nothing else needed for Christmas

The Celle Christmas Market is like an advent calendar. There is something hidden behind every little door. Every window promises excitement and surprises. Whether it’s ice skating or ice-curling in front of Celle Palace. A light parade through the ancient streets. The artisan handcrafts in front of the Old Town Hall. Christmas stories in the old ‚Posthof‘ building. Concerts and brass brand choirs on the Stechbahn. Mulled wine, or Punch and Co on the ‚Großen Plan.

The Christmas market in Celle means to slow the pace down. At the very least. In the little alleyways and squares of the Old Town – with a mulled wine in your hand, take a moment to contemplate the year gone by, suffused in the warm play of light on the historic half-timbered façades, see the children’s eyes lit with excitement, relax, just stop for a moment – that’s also the Christmas market in Celle.
