Celle’s Weekly Market is situated in front of the old town hall on the market square on the Stechbahn, next to the St. Marien town church and stretches along to the Schloßplatz; it tempts visitors with its many stalls and market carts, full of seasonal delicacies from around the region.

It is said to have been around 700 years ago that the market first began here. More and more new traders began to appear, delighting Celle’s residents and visitors alike with the fresh produce grown and produced in the area. Then as now, the weekly market is a special attraction, set against the flair of the old town and the ducal Palace in the background.
