The Artistic Estate of the Painter and Graphic Artist
The Albert König Museum preserves the artistic legacy of the painter and graphic artist Albert König (1881-1944). Not only are works by König exhibited, but also by other important artists from the region. Several times a year, the museum introduces different artists and shows a variety of themed exhibitions.
The museum houses a permanent exhibition entitled "Kieselguhr - The Adventure Exhibition" in its extension building. This actively focuses on natural history and the natural resource of diatomaceous earth. Visitors can hear testimonials, experiment with different preparations or take a seat at a microscope. A dedicated area - ‘The Island of Research’ (‘Forschungsinsel‘) - provides information about König’s life and work as an artist.
The museum also provides the ideal venue for hosting events, such as concerts, readings and theatre evenings.
Weddings in Unterlüß also conducted at the museum! This cultural, yet cosy setting is the ideal place in which to say „I do“.
